No issues at all with the generator. My handiest issue is with Generac's packaging. Potential consumers will have to take now note that if shopping for on-line the position fright shipping is required, there could be as a minimum a tight chance your generator will arrive damaged. The first Generac generator ordered was damaged beyond protected use as a consequence of poor packaging. This one was once ordered although Home Depot on-line, no longer Amazon. As it became out, even supposing it took three full weeks to peer the generator, it was once a bonus as a consequence of I used to be simply ready to drop it off at my native retailer for money back. Home Depot was out of inventory all over on this edition, so ordered the 2nd from Amazon and got it in 4 days! Should have completed that the first time... It arrived in pristine condition. I put in oil and fuel and the object began up right away. It used to be a wonder to behold. Fat forward to August of 2011. Hurricane Irene hit and we lost energy. I pulled the Generac out of my shed, hooked it up, during the switch swap and...no power. I examined the unit and it didn't generate any electricity. I took to the local Generac dealer/service.
Reviews for Generac 5940 GP6500 8,000 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator (Lawn & Patio) It's my fault. I admit that, but I was in a hurry. With extra analysis, I can have found these items out, alternatively, I made some assumptions that bit me within the hiney.
1. I assumed it could be simple to return the generator to Amazon if I was once no longer happy with it. Generators can't be again to Amazon. I must go in the route of the manufacturer, and from the evaluations, they're very arduous to take care of.
2. I assumed the engine was manufactured in the USA. I like to buy U.S. made products (if they are the same or higher quality) and I can manage to pay for it. Only the XG line of mills have engines made in america. The GP line engines are made in china.
3. I assumed this engine had an oil filter. THIS ENGINE DOES NOT HAVE AN OIL FILTER.
